Prom looks tie-up with Inquirer’s 2bU

In case you missed it, The Philippine Daily Inquirer’s 2bU section came out with a set of Prom looks for high school girls last January 23, 2010. Bianca Consunji, who wrote the article, asked me if I could help contact some hair and make-up stylists for the shoot, and I was naturally happy to do so.

With our favorite hair guy, Borge Aloba of L’Oréal Professionnel, and make-up artist Jim Ryan Ros of Maybelline New York, 2bU created 5 amazing looks for you readers! Hope you share these with your friends who are having their prom soon! Enjoy!

Have you started thinking about what you’re wearing to the prom? If not, read on!

“Boho” – Prom Collection (Part 3)

For the last prom look, here’s a little something for those who want to be more relaxed and whimsical! The boho look is all about looking like you didn’t spend a lot of time worrying about the prom while still being an eye-catcher.

Soft colors and textures for the dress, make-up and hair are the key to pulling this off

“Classic” – Prom Collection (Part 2)

For the second prom look, I wanted something to contrast the first strong, edgy look. Something for those girls that are more reserved and quiet. The creative team decided to create a classic look that is not faddish and is very feminine.

The Classic look gives you a mature elegance despite being in your teens

“Edgy” – Prom Collection looks (part 1)

Back in December, the HairInManila team was deciding on what hair collection to do next. And what’s more fun than a Prom series!

But we didn’t want the usual prom looks. We wanted to create something more exciting and unconventional. For the next three days, I’ll be posting three looks that will hopefully inspire the High School ladies out there to try something different in their prom and balls.

Speaking of High School, I needed help in finding volunteers and in styling the clothes. So I called up Bianca Santiago, fashion editor of Chalk magazine for help and we were off! 😀

While everyone looks like princesses, you can be a rock queen!

The final look in this series!

Since we showed a vampire look, it is only natural that we feature their Hollywood nemesis, Werewolves! Once again, guest blogger Frances Amper wrote the step-by-step process below.

Happy Halloween readers! 🙂

“Vampire” – Halloween Glam looks (part 3)

Part 3 of the Halloween collection! This time, we’ll do one of the most popular, classic monsters of all time, the Vampire!

But for this look (and the last one tomorrow), a new set of artists have volunteered to show off their talents. Also, I invited one of my favorite bloggers, Frances Amper of and to help write this step-by-step guide. Thanks Frances for taking time off from your super busy schedule! 🙂

Skip the cliched cape, powder white skin, and fake fangs and be as mysterious and dangerous as a vampire should be!
